I am a private pay therapist, meaning I do not accept Insurance. I do provide “superbills” for out-of-network benefits you may have with your current insurance company. This is an invoice you submit to your insurance company, who will directly reimburse you for your out-of-network benefits. I recommend always checking with your insurance provider directly to understand your benefits.

I do provide sliding scale options for those with low income or experiencing hardship, though those slots are currently full.

As of January 2022, behavioral health professionals are legally required by the No Surprises Act to provide self-pay clients a Good Faith Estimate for mental health services:

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.  You can ask your healthcare provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
